NEIGHBOURHOOD GREENING WORKSHOP

On Saturday, February 25th, Toronto and Regional Conservation Association will be holding a workshop at St. Mark’s from 2:00-4:00 P.M., downstairs.   There will be a presentation on ideas and examples of greening projects in the community, including ways to save money.   Refreshments will be provided.   There is no charge for the workshop and there will be an opportunity to win a $100 Home Depot gift card.

 

PANCAKE SUPPER (Shrove Tuesday) – ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICES

On Tuesday, February 21, 2012 the annual St. Mark’s Pancake Supper will be held downstairs starting at 5:00 to 6:30.   After supper, at 7:00 P.M., the Ash Wednesday services will be held in the Sanctuary.

 

THIS SUNDAY

This week (February 19th) is the last Sunday before Lent begins – also known as Transfiguration Sunday.   We will also celebrate “Thinking” Day (Scouting and Guiding).   If you have a uniform, pin, scarf, please feel free to wear it.   Services are at 11:00 A.M. with refreshment and fellowship at 10:30 A.M.

LIVING AND LEARNING WITH BABY

Every Thursday from January 26 to March 1, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. the City of Toronto, Public Health, will be holding a program “Living and Learning with Baby” from six weeks to six months, downstairs at St. Mark’s.

Parents and baby are invited to come and meet other parents to talk about – adjusting to parenthood, infant nutrition, growth and development, caring for a sick child, keeping baby safe and community resources.

This is a free program provided by Toronto Public Health Nurses.  To register please call Mary at 416-338-6128.

The United Church of Canada is deeply concerned about the emergency situation now affecting several countries in the Horn of Africa.
