The Seat of the Soul—by Gary Zukav The Seat of the Soul

The Seat of the Soul is a book about spirituality, light, energy, angels, reincarnation and much more.

The author, Gary Zukav, talks about the evolution of the soul, external & authentic power, and karma in his first couple of chapters. He has a very insightful way of handling what scholars have grappled with for centuries. I found his perspective intriguing in that much of what he said was already a part of my thought process, but there were a few twists that definitely make it worth the read. I enjoy books that make me think in new ways.

Zukav goes on to speak of the importance of reverence in all that we do. Throughout the book there is the theme that we are evolving from five sensory humans to multi-sensory beings. Intuition is considered to be the start of the ‘multi’ part of our evolution into beings of spirit and light.

Zukav then speaks of our intention in this life as being imperative in who we are and who we are becoming. He dedicates two chapters to intention. He talks about our chosen partners in life: our spouse &/or spiritual partners (sometimes evolving into the same partner).

He emphasizes the importance of relationships in our earthly existence and speaks of this existence as ‘earth school’, where we learn the lessons that our soul needs to process in order to evolve.

Zukav has an interesting way of explaining what the bible would call the God within us. He also speaks of forgiveness and the detrimental effects of critical judgments of the self and of others, and how negativity can damage us. His point of view regarding our individual purpose in this life and how it came about is thought-provoking.

I found this book held my interest throughout, and I recommend it regardless of religious affiliation. I read it weeks ago and I’m still thinking about iand processing the concepts that Zukav introduced. He manages to circumvent individual religions that divide us, and goes straight to a spirituality that unites us.
